1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.

3. The rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the heart of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify them- selves by this means.

5. The soul which recommend itself to me by the recitation of the rosary, shall not perish.

6. Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.

10. The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.

11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.

12. All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.

14. All who recite the rosary are my son, and brothers of my only son Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan)
Imprimatur: Patrick J. Hayes DD Archbishop of New York

We can never be reminded often enough of the promises to those who say the rosary. Thanks to the blogger penned “Mary Mother of God” for posting this.

This post comes at a great time. (Is there ever a bad one?)

Prayer is an ongoing dialogue of intimate communion with God, through Christ and in the Holy Spirit…. Prayer is not about results or even our efforts, but about love.

In fact, prayer is really not about us at all, but about the “One” who hungers to be known and loved, the “Other”, who calls us into the intimacy of communion with Himself, in and through His Son and lives His life within us – and through us – by His Spirit. The Lord whom we seek is outside of time, having given time as a gift to those whom he now prepares for eternity. He dwells in the eternal now and invites us through prayer along a path to the fullness of life.

That’s a quote from Deacon Keith Fournier. Deacon Fournier has presented an excellent, in-depth column about how prayer is love and Pope Benedict XVI’s focus on prayer.

He goes on to say:

Preparing ourselves for prayer means learning to silence the clamor of the age, stop the ever accelerating pace of the futile quests that so often occupy our hearts, and live in the eternal now by surrendering ourselves – and even our best aspirations- to the One who created us –and now re-creates us- in His Son Jesus Christ. It is there, in the emptied place, in the stillness of the eternal now, where we prepare a room for the King of all hearts. And, in that encounter, we soon find the longing of our heart fulfilled.

Silencing the clamor really is key these days, isn’t it? It seems almost impossible these days to find silence to allow ourselves to enter into communion with God. Even restaurants these days have radio and television running, which can be distractions even from taking time with our friends and families.

I encourage you to take a look at Deacon Fournier’s column. It might encourage you — as it does me — to keep seeking to silence the clamor of today’s world and entering into communion with God’s love.

Madonna House has printed a beautiful prayer to Mary, asking her intercession to help us learn how to pray. This prayer asks Mary’s help in praying the rosary.

It’s an especially timely prayer, given that October is month of the Holy Rosary.

The prayer was adapted from Carmel, an Irish magazine, published in 1956. It’s definitely a prayer worth praying. Check it out. And feel free to share your thoughts on the prayer here, if you like.

By Noel Z. Steele

Religious puzzles are not only fun to put together, but they also have great value when it comes to the spiritual upbringing of young children. For many families religion is a central component to life. Passing down these values and beliefs to youngsters can be a hard thing to accomplish, as it is often difficult to explain these very adult concepts to youngsters.

One beneficial attribute of this type of hobby is the fact that it appeals to kids as much, or nearly as much, as it does adults. The act of putting all of the pieces in their spots is quite therapeutic, almost meditative.

During the process of piecing things together you can use the moment as a time to reflect and think about what the religious image means to you and your children. You can use this awesome time not only to discuss the more technical meaning behind the story that you are discussing, but also how the central message of it relates to your personal life on Earth.

Once you have finished the work of placing all those pieces into their respective spaces you can freeze the moment in time forever by using puzzle glue and a strong backing to create a life-long piece of artwork. Forming several spiritually-infused pieces can make good wall art for a child’s room or the family room. This will create an excellent spot to further talk about how important these things are to your family’s well-being.

Although we sit in our religious ceremonies and listen to the clergy talk about these concepts, many of us neglect to discuss these things at home. Our family is by far our most important source of morality and values and we learn a great deal of what we know about these issues from watching our parents. Spending time together, working on activities such as this is not only educational but truly valuable.

Religious puzzles offer a great outlet for parents who are looking for a creative way to spend time with their children, discussing the most important elements of their family’s faith. Parents never regret these quiet moments spent sharing important information with their children, nor do the kids themselves. Meaningful activities like this set the stage for life-long devotion.

The Hail Mary is indeed a powerful prayer. Through this prayer, Mother Mary has interceded for the conversions of many souls.

The Hail Mary is a prayer from the bible. The first part of the Hail Mary is from a passage about the Annunciation of the Angel to Our Lady. ‘Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women.’

The second part of the Hail Mary comes from the salutation of St. Elizabeth to the Mary when they greet each other after Mary has conceived Jesus and Elizabeth has conceived John. In that greeting, while praising God for his goodness, Mary says that ‘all generations will call me blessed.’

Truly the Magnificat has to be one of the most beautiful passages in the bible. We read:

46 And Mary said,
        ”My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant.
             Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me,
             and holy is his name.
50 His mercy is for those who fear him
             from generation to generation.
51   He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
52 He has brought down the powerful from their thrones,
             and lifted up the lowly;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
             in remembrance of his mercy,
55 according to the promise he made to our ancestors,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Luke 1:46-55

In his blog, “Defenders of the Catholic Faith,” Stephen Ray shares a story of powerful conversions being brought through Mother Mary and the Hail Mary. Here’s how the story begins:

“A little six-year-old Protestant boy had often heard his Catholic companion reciting the prayer ‘Hail Mary.’ He liked it so much that he copied it, memorized it and would recite it every day. ‘Look, Mummy, what a beautiful prayer,’ he said to his mother one day. ‘Never again say it,’ answered the mother.’ it is a superstitious prayer of Catholics who adore idols and think Mary a goddess. After all, she is a woman like any other. Come on, take this Bible and read it. It contains everything that we are bound to do and have to do.’”

If you know Mary, you know the story ends in conversion. But until you read the story, you don’t know how she does it. You will be inspired by the story.
